What is nice about this lamp is that the shade is not a clip on that fastens onto a bulb-and because of the pattern to the shade, you do not see any structural outlines when the light is on. Also, many small lamps only allow for a 25 Watt bulb, while this one accepts up to a 40 Watt bulb. You will need to get a chandelier shaped bulb for use to avoid a regular rounded bulb from peeping up over the shade top.
