I am giving this lamp 5 stars because it is a BEAUTIFUL lamp. The Amazon photo doesn't do it justice, so I have uploaded a few shots taken at Xmas time. This lamp was not a problem for my husband to set up. It comes with directions, but is self explanatory. The shade is gorgeous! It is a cream color with brown lines stitched around it. The lines are farther apart on the bottom half of the shade, giving it a 2-tone look. What makes it so beautiful is the silver thread. There is a line of silver thread separating the close-together lines half from the farther-apart lines half of the shade. Then, there is silver stitching in the upper (closer together) half of the shade. It is so beautiful and it was a surprise as I didn't really see this in the photo provided by Amazon. I have received so many compliments on this lamp on the beautiful shade and on the long reach of the arched arm. This lamp takes a 3-way bulb, up to 150 watts. Very bright! I have this lamp in my living room which designers would call a "Transitional" style eclectic some traditional furnishings, some modern, with a mix of styles. For Amazon Prime members the shipping is free. Great deal!
Now for the WARNING
It took me THREE tries to receive this lamp in full.
1st: Just the base/arm arrived. This was a heavy box that included everything but the shade. The box was quite long and about 5" 6" wide. So, the shade would not have fit in the box. Also, it states on the box that the shade is in a separate box. I called Amazon. The gentleman told me that it is listed as a "1 box" item. I told him that it stated right on the box that the shade is separate. He told me that Amazon would send me a new lamp and that I should send this base back (He sent me a pre-paid UPS label for this). I asked if they could just send me the shade, and he said no, it had to be the entire lamp. OK... I've quit wondering about the ill-logic of large companies. So, I took the base to a UPS store and off it went.
2nd: Several days later the shade arrived. Yes, just the shade. So, I contacted Amazon again by phone. I was feeling more than frustrated at this point. The woman with whom I spoke this time, said she would have another lamp sent to me. She told me to keep this shade for my trouble. I figured I'd have an extra shade if one ever got damaged, etc. I was grateful that I didn't have to make another trip to the UPS store. She sent my lamp overnight, as well.
3rd: 2 days later I get a box with the base. No shade. Huh. Well, thank goodness I was allowed to keep the shade from shipment #2! This box arrived fairly beat up. It fell apart as I cut the tape open, and the styrofoam inside did as well, making a big mess. But, the metal base and arm were in fine condition. So, now I have a the entire lamp.
If you order this lamp and only receive half, I recommend you keep that until you see what you get next!
I am glad I went through the trouble. This lamp is SO worth it!

This is a sleek looking, nice lamp. It has a good reach and the lamp shade swivels so you can direct the light. it is 3-way which I like. Also, the whole arm easily swings so you can shine it over another spot in the room just by swinging it over. We have it over the couch for reading, and then we can swing it over to the floor while kids do their Legos. It is a good value for the price ($200).Best Deals for Lite Source LS-80752PS Relaxar Arch Lamp, Polished Steel
The shipment came as two separate boxes. It was easy to set up, took about 15 minutes since I like to be very careful and take my time. Added a plug in touch dimmer and it is now an excellent lamp. The shade is beautiful!Honest reviews on Lite Source LS-80752PS Relaxar Arch Lamp, Polished Steel
I have an un-natural LOVE for this lamp!Ordered it with my amazon prime. It arrived less than 24 hours later ( I paid the $3.99 for overnight.) AND they delivered it Saturday? Un real. I know shipping and that was $60 worth of shipping. Prime paid for itself right there!
Like others said, the packaging looked like it made it through a war zone but the lamp inside was PERFECT!
I put it together by myself in less than 30 minutes
This lamp is SO beautiful! It looks like it cost THREE times what I paid for it.
If there were a 10 star rating I would give it to this lamp.
Now: hints.
1) be ready for styrofoam to be all over the place when you open it up.
2) be ready to lift a very heavy base that stabalizes the lamp.
3) have your own allen wrench set to put the one part of the lamp togehter.
4) if the lamp is "scewed" to one side or the other don't panicthe lamp is not broken or damaged. You just need to twist the connections around until it is "straight." This took some strength but it got done!
You will NOT go wrong with the purchase of this light....AND AMAZON prime was such the immediate gratification!
