This is the lamp all of us use in the studio at work whether we are sculpting or painting. It works very well and I find I can't paint as comfortably if I'm using another lamp. It just isn't the same. This lamp has done wonders for me, it doesn't give me head aches, it's easily adjustable and I just bought one for use at home.

I purchased this desk lamp because of the amount of light it throws on the work area and the flexibility of adjusting the lamps position. I owned 2 of these lamps in the past and they last "forever". Great product!

The item is just like the picture. Some costumers complain the counter weight doesn't work well, but I think this lamp is meant to be hanging low like what it looks like in the picture. I think it looks more modern this way. Besides the arm, the angle of the lamp is very adjustable. The transformer is within the base of the lamp and the power cord come out of that, so you don't have to bother with a large transformer on your power strip. My lamp come with two cold-color fluorescent bulbs(little longer than I have expected), which provide very adequate amount of light. If you have a long table, it make a nice combination with this lamp. The black finish of the lamp is pretty good, it doesn't get too much finger print. It's easy to clean. Just wipe with tissue and you are good to go. Price is a little to the pricey side for a lamp, but the quality is definitely better than the IKEA stuff.

The product, overall, works very well. When first turned on, the ballasts flicker off and on from a few seconds to almost a minute, but it becomes steady after that. It just makes me wonder if the ballasts will fail soon or not. The swing-arm feature works vwey well.

Provides adequate light for water color painting at an architect's desk. Easy to install. Counter balance provided by base springs on swing arm is not adequate, although I haven't fully investigated the effect of tightening the nuts at the base of the arm. There is an easily adjusted wing nut at the elbow.

Some artists prefer a swing arm lamp with a combination of fluorescent and incandescent light. This lamp in my opinion, with two 15 W fluorescent bulbs used in combination with ceiling incandescent lights, provides better overall illumination.
