I love the lamp. It is everything I had hoped it would be. However...the seller charged for a shipping weight of 18 pounds. I weighed it when I received it and packing, box and all, it only weighed 4.2 pounds. What's up with the shipping rate rip off?

It didn't have a description for the type of bulb needed for the unit. Natural assumption is that it at least would need a "normal" size bulb! This unit requires a 15 Watt appliance bulb. Good luck finding that wattage! Hardly light enough for any use. Also, after going to 7 stores to try and find a 15 watt bulb :-( we found that there is so little light that it isn't worth the space needed to house the lamp. Then, because the glass top is so heavy, it broke off the lamp pedestal because it was only welded on using the crossbar above the light bulb!

I purchased the Dolphin Lamp from Amazon for a seven year old god-daughter. Although the lamp is as pictured, the screw that is supposed to hold the lampshade in place is way to short. It barely goes through the shade and there is no way to screw it in to hold the shade in place. I was very dissappointed and the little girl I purchased it for was very unhappy.
