I bought this floor lamp to add light to my living room. It has done just that. Its very stylish and coordinates with rest of the room well. I love the button which rests on the floor to turn it on/off. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have a carpeted floor that causes the lamp to lean a little and I have to readjust it every so often. Also, I thought it had a dimmer but it does not.

I bought this lamp because I needed to light a large room with good lighting, not dim lighting. This lamp serves that purpose very well. I have a large open living room and this lights up the room beautifully.

I have very plush carpet. The lamp does not sit too well on the plush carpet. It leans a bit to one side. Not too noticeable if you are not starring at it.

Assembly was easy, but as in other peoples review, the instructions do not say to take the little plastic things out of the tubes before you screw the tubes together! I can see how this would be frustrating so just know that you DO take the clear plastic clips out. Easy to put together by yourself.

Lamp looks elegant and gives a nice (gentle but useful) light in the smallish space we have for it. It was not easy to assemble, however, because of some strange plastic things in each hole that the cord goes through -also, the description says the light has a dimmer switch, but it doesn't.

my wife likes lamps. we have many. this is a piece of junk, flotsam and jetsam it is

nearly impossible to assemble, and i built my own house.

the ticky tacky thin metal brackets that hold the globes are cantankerous at best, and i broke one of the lamp holders when i looked at it wrong.

amazon should be ashamed to sell this kind of junk.

if you want one, you can have ours, seriously.

Looks quite nice in our bedroom, plugged into the "switched" wall socket, so that it comes on when we flip the wall siitch. Plenty of light (in fact you may want to only use 10W CFL bulbs or 40W regular bulbs max, maybe even less. In fact, you could experiment with really low wattage bulbs; this thing produces a lot of light.

Here's some tips on putting this together. As mentioned by others, remove the little 1/4" plastic tabs that are inserted into the end of each tube. There's about 12 of them, and you need a sharp little tool to get them out, maybe a tiny screwdriver, or exacto blade, or something like that. The instructions don't say to do this, but it's way better if these are pulled out for two reasons. One, you will be able to pull excess cord from the bottom when screwing the rods together. Two, the ends of each rod will more snugly fit together, making the rods straighter. But here's the key thing others may not have mentioned: completely remove the felt-covered plate from the bottom of the base. This can be done by putting your palm on it and twisting counterclockwise to unscrew it from the bottom. Keep turning this base plate until it comes off. You will then see the wires and wire nuts under the base, but no problem, when the lamp is standing upright, the wires will not be visible, and the lamp will be much more stable without that crummy felt base plate. That dang thing does nothing but make the lamp wobbley. If you follow these tips, the lamp will take about a half-hour to put together, and it will look just fine.

My first lamp arrived with a broken glass fixture, so I returned it using the amazon UPS pick up procudure, they sent a new one even before I got first one back to them. So, once you get past these hurdles, you've got a great lamp.
