BEWARE of ordering ANY lamp shades on Amazon that you are really
getting the size that you really want. Many descriptions have missing dimensions,
or use ambiguous dimension nomenclature, without explanation. I've ordered a
few lamp shades but about half of them were the wrong size and will
need to be returned. Amazon's return policy is good, but these
returns are pretty much unnecessary. Other times, it was simply
impossible to order a lampshade due to missing, ambiguous or cryptic
dimensions. Also, don't be misled by the product photography that
shows about lamp shade about the same size regardless of its actual size.
It is very difficult to search Amazon for shades of a particular
size or range of sizes. Descriptions usually include the height but
are inconsistent about other dimensions, such as upper and lower
diameter, vertical height vs. length of shade vertically, or
the mysterious "T" measurement on some but not all shades.
