We used this lamp in my sons room for nighttime stories and enjoyed it for about two years until the on/off/dimming switch stopped working. My son is young and the lamp wasn't abused. For such and expensive lamp we expected more durability. We are still using the lamp but in order to turn it on or off we have to plug it in and out of the electrical socket.
