I have switched most of the light bulbs in my house to energy-efficient CFL (compact flourescent) bulbs -except where I had three-way lamps. Three-way CFLs are hard to find, expensive, and lack the long life that can turn them into money savers. But with a fixture like this, I can use CFLs of different wattages, or I can choose to light one or both bulbs, depending on my needs. This fixture is attractive and high quality, though the antiqued brass is a bit darker than I expected. Highly recommended!

Excellent quality, well made, functions perfectly . . . I put it on table between my wife's and my reading chairs. Works as well as two floor lamps while taking up much less space. The adjustable shade positions work well to focus light where needed for each person.

I purchased this lamp to sit on a sofa table so I could have some light for reading and knitting. I needed a lamp of this approximate height because my new sofa has a much higher back than my old one. This is a quality lamp, with many nice features. I think it was designed to sit on a table between two chairs, even though they call it a desk lamp, but it has worked out nicely for me. Since the sides light independently, I can have as much or as little light as I need. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I have a chair next to a writing desk and had to move a regular swing arm lamp towards the desk or chair depending on where I was. The lighting was poor from either side. This Kichler lamp has one slightly high side and both sides move to provide two directions of perfect lighting. The shades are of a hard resultant material covered in linen. The shades are also adjustable. It also is available in a brushed bronze with natural shades. I'm extremely pleased with this lamp. It's exactly what I was looking for!
