very bright but generates a considerable amount of heat that I was unprepared for. Also, hsa a cord "roller" switch that is approx. 1.5 feet from the device. This is a design flaw since it sits on a desk, and the cord typically dangles off the back.

Man this thing is bright!!! Easily adjustable.

Only con to it it gets way too hot. You could use it as a heat lamp to keep food warm.

I think this is a pretty nice quality little lamp. I'm glad I went for a halogen lamp rather than an incandescent...so much better quality light on my desk. It is constructed well out of metal and is very suitable for a professional office.

Only cons are that the lamp is smaller than it looks in the photo and the toggle switch is on the chord like the other review mentioned (about 2' down the chord). Since it sits on a desk, turning the light off could be a pain if you didn't have easy access.

the tension on the suspension mechanisms are adequately adjustable, the lamp is handsome for it's type. The cord is adequately long, though, has a dimmer switch on the cord, rather than the lamp base. I found this incredibly irritating, but did accomodate it.

The lamp is 120VAC, this unit does not have a transformer: this will matter a great deal when should you need to purchase a replacement lamp bulb.

This was a nice lamp. Unfortunately it stopped working after 5 months of minimal use. I replaced the halogen bulb, triple checked everything I could. I have no idea why it no longer works. While not terribly expensive, it just seems to me this is a fairly lousy product if it ceases working after only 5 months.
