this is a very nice lamp. it is sturdy and well built. it doesn't quite look like the in the picture. the one pictured looks gray to me and the one I got is a flat black. mine does have some gold on it but not as much as the one pictured. all in all I like the one I got better. the lamp model has a retro look. i put a 40 watt bulb in mine because that is all i had and it gives out plenty of light. it can take up to a 60 watt. anyway, I'm a happy customer and I recommend this lamp to anyone.
