I have ordered hundreds of items off Amazon, probably well over a thousand. This is the WORST piece of crap I have ever received. AND IT COST ME OVER $300! Immediately after taking it out of the box I was less than impressed with the chrome finish obviously plated. However, the reason I returned it was because its design would not even support its own weight! It crumbled! Now I have to find a decent box to return it in because the one it came in arrived damaged. I wanted it to work so badly and would have made every effort to accept it if the design simply stayed together. DID AMAZON NOT VET THIS VENDOR AND THEIR PIECE OF CRAP? I expect so much more from Amazon... What a huge disappointment in both the merchandise and in Amazon.

It's very heavy, and great looking lamp. For safety issues would not recommend to homes with small kids. If you put them on a carpet, it will fall. Even on the flat surface it may need to be secured, sofa or chair next to it.
