The lamp is very small even though it telescopes it still seems short but it was cute and gave off excellent light. I would think it would be an excellent desk lamp, but not big enough to be a table task lamp.
Sew Vac was the company that sold this to me through Amazon. The lamp arrived a little damaged and scuffed. I decided I didn't want to keep it and called their customer service number ready for a big battle. Well, let me tell you that they have the nicest customer service. They gave me options since it arrived damaged could return it for full refund (including shipping there & back), they would discount it and let me keep it, or i could exchange it for another one. I ended up returning it, but I would never shy away from this company because even if they do mess up they take care of you.

I just bought three of these lamps, 2 black and 1 white, from different Amazon sellers. They're bigger than I wanted, but the dimensions are clearly given in the product description, so that's my oversight. The telescoping sections are hard to move in and out (one reviewer wrote that their lamp only had two sections, but I'd bet they just weren't able to pull out the last section). Maybe they'll be less likely to become too loose with repeated adjusting. At least they're nice looking and the base is heavy enough that they wouldn't tip over easily. My main complaint is the in-line switch. They should have put the switch on the front of the base--a nice little rocker switch you can reach for easily instead of groping along the cord if the room is dark. In the places I'd be putting my lamps, the switches will be hanging down the back or side of a desk or cabinet, so it will be annoying every time I want to turn the lamp on or off, I'll have to pull the cord up. I was going to put one on my headboard as a reading lamp, but because of the hassle to reach the switch and (according to another reviewer) the metal shade getting too hot, I don't think it would be such a great idea to reach up over my head to try to turn it off once I got sleepy--it would be aggravating and dangerous. Also, you can't use a plug-in device that turns a regular lamp into a "touch" lamp, so that option is out. I'm almost ready to return these stupid lamps. Just because they're OTT-LITE doesn't mean they'd be the best choice.

I wanted a light to read by after I go to bed at night and this is perfect! I read my Kindle Touch every night using this light and it has just the right amount of light for that purpose!

I wish it telescoped a bit further. I have to but it on a book to get the angle I want. Perfect for needlework.
