This is a very pretty addition to any Asian-themed room. I love it, but do have a couple of comments. It can only hold a 25 watt bulb, which means it does not produce much light. Also, thought you cannot see it in the picture displayed, the cord hangs down from the middle of the lantern, which kind of detracts from the overall appearance, although not enough to keep me from buying another one. I would recommend this lamp as long as you buy it with these things in mind.

I bought two of these lamps, and they made my bedroom look fantastic. It was wierd that the sticker on one lamp said "use 60 watt bulb", and exactly identical sticker on the other lamp said "use 25 watt sticker". I bought two 15 watt energy saver bulbs that give as much light as 60 watt bulbs, and that solved the problem. Nice and bright! Also lamps arrived way before the estimate delivery date. Very pleased with this purchase.

I love these lamps. Sure, if you're handy with wood you could probably put one together yourself, but if you lack the time and desire you won't go wrong with these lamps.

I followed the advice of another reviewer and got myself a couple LED 10 watt bulbs for the two lamps I bought (specifically the G7 Power G7A19W10 800 Lumen 10-watt Omni-Directional LED Dimmable Light Bulbs). They light up a room pretty well—almost too well. Decide whether you want these as accent lights or room lights, as if you set them up to be in a main line of sight, a 10-watt LED might be too bright (fortunately my LEDs dim should I desire).

About the construction: The white "paper" part is a sturdy fabric, so you won't have to worry about accidental finger jabs ruining your lamps. The top comes off so you can more easily change the light bulb once you've put it together (minor assembly required). It didn't seem exactly flush with the lamp, but I tried turning it a different direction and that seemed to work. (But these are really nitpicks, they're great lamps). Actual lamp cords seem a decent length. I've got a 6-foot couch between the end tables and these lamps plug into an outlet right in the middle with slack to spare. I have the rosewood lamps on black end tables, so the cords disappear from notice. Most people are just impressed with the cool lamps.

Okay, hopefully that's been thorough enough for you. Based on what I could find on various sites not including Amazon these lamps seem to be the best bang for your buck in what you get. And they certainly add to an Asian-themed room. Enjoy!

I like the look it adds an Eastern flair to a room. It is very light. There isn't much to it, so it hurts to pay $40 for it but what can one do? It does look nice, it kind of complements a room which might have plants and various rounder things -a room filled with only right angles, not sure this would be so complementary. But I am glad I bought it, sight unseen.
