The wiring is nice and long, the socket assembly is sturdy and easy to put together, the shade bracket is nice and tall. BUT the threaded mounting tube is extremely short, really too short. I have a floor lamp that has been in the house about 5 years. I only needed one of the parts contained in this kit to repair the lamp. I have the other parts on hand for other lamps just in case. The lamp of my living room lamp-table combination quit and I looked everywhere for something I liked as well to no avail. Thank goodness for replacement parts! The Leviton 3-way Lamp Replacement Kit has such easy-to-follow directions printed right on the package that it was a breeze to install. I actually like the size of this cord better than the one that was originally installed in the lamp. The original cord was so thick that I could barely get it out of the metal tubing that leads to the light, which I believe is the reason the lamp shorted out. The cord in the Leviton 3-way Lamp Replacement Kit is well insulated but smaller and much easier to work with. I highly recommend this product! It's easy and saves a lot of money as opposed to replacing a lamp!
