This lamp was recommended to us by our interior designer. We found it about 15% cheaper than her price on Amazon.com and went for it! We're so happy with our purchase the base is a smoked glass, and the shade is a light grey/silver tone. It is different than any lamp I've ever laid eyes on and everyone who enters our living room comments on it. We're actually thinking of buying a second to put behind our sofa. The lamp was packaged safely and securely and arrived in perfect condition.
