These like all touch dimmers that plug in between the lamp and the wall, are so simple to install. Just plug it in and touch the metal part of the lamp. But this brand has some very annoying features....
I had a friend give me a few touch dimmers as a gift, but another brand. I liked the feature so much, I came here and bought 5 of the Westek's. 4 out of 5 had such annoying problems, that we went back to the lamp itself. For instance, they would turn on by themselves, they would change the dimmer setting when you walk by the lamp. They would turn on during any lightning storm. It was really annoying to come home, or downstairs in the morning to a number of lamps turned on. It was also so sensitive that you would sometimes have to cycle thru the touches to get the right setting, since it would keep going.
I love the feature but this brand is useless. I recommend the "Touch and Glow" brand. They work just how you would want them too. It's too bad it's not carried on Amazon in this configuration.

I have bought $35 Westek touch dimmers that have worked great for about 5 years, then I must buy another. I have moved, so this time I looked to Amazon for a replacement. I didn't find the exact one I have used before, but thought I would try this one, a little leery of the cheap price and the 3 reviews that said they didn't work. Well, mine didn't work in any of the three lamps I tried it with. So back it goes. I wanted a touch lamp but the selection is limited, with this product all my lamps can be touch and stylish. I found the sensivitity to be just right, the lamps don't come on in "ghost mode", and operate with a complete touch (more than a brush, less than a hold). It works fine as long as it is firmly plugged in. If it is jostled even the slightest bit, it does not function properly until the plug is readjusted. I bought four of these and while they were installed it was like living in the haunted mansion! Lights turning on and off by themselves!!
