I was very excited to receive this product today but was pretty let down to find a rather sloppy paint job on the light saber section. This surprises me after reading several positive reviews attesting its quality. The material itself is rather sturdy but whoever painted it over in China does not believe in coloring within the lines at all. Also, the chrome paint is bubbling and cracked, even chipping, along the creases. The shade is awesome and very nice quality but I'm finding it difficult to believe that the quality (or lack there of) of the paint job was intentional. Perhaps it is a defect or the product was not stored properly. This is not of the same caliber of the many other officially licensed Star Wars collectibles I've purchased over the years.

If anyone else owns one of these, could you please let me know if this is just the nature of the product or if your product is different because I'll have to decide whether to just return it or have Amazon exchange it. I really hope its just a defect because I'm already rather attached to the idea of having a light saber lamp in my living room.

This is so nicely made. When i got it, i thought it was going to be some cheap thing since the box wasnt heavy, but i was wrong. I really hope my boyfriend loves it! He is a Star Wars fan and i thought this was pretty nifty. Now i kinda want to buy the other SW lamp (Anakin's).

Any Star Wars fan must have this. It is that simple. The Imperial symbol shines through nicely, but to add a sweet effect use a red colored bulb. Darth's saber is immediately recognizable. The lamp is well made and is a functional collectible.

I got this lamp for my husband. At $60+, it isn't constructed very well. The detail of the paint job on the handle/stand is very poor (along the lines of a plastic model plane painted by an 8-year-old), and the padded base of the lamp wasn't lined up properly but fortunately that can be hidden since it's on the base. It will look good as long as you aren't looking too closely. I'm sure a child would be happy with it, but maybe not an adult. I definitely think it should be better-constructed for the price.

**Note: Do not buy this lamp from the seller 'GoHastings'. I had a horrible experience and will never buy from them again.

ProThis is very sturdy and made with fine craftsmanship.

ConAfter hours of searching I still couldn't find the crystal energy chamber. This was frustrating, as focusing crystals do not come cheaply. Now it's just sitting on my nightstand used as a light source.
