I have been looking for a lamp for a guest bedroom to match the comforter set that I also purchased on Amazon and LOVED. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CPL7YQK/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_3). I didn't want to spend too much because the room mostly goes uninhabited. When the lamp arrived, I was immediately underwhelmed. The picture here makes it look much nicer and higher quality. The lighter, middle portion looks almost like a faux-marble in the image, or at least wood with some sort of a textured finish. With my lamp, this just looked like a different colored wood and was solid. The rest of the lamp itself was nearly black, whereas the picture looks more of a bronze/gold tone (which I was expecting based on the name). The only "antique gold" accents I observe are some very fine lines of gold "paint" above and below the orangey wood part. I hate to sound so negative, but it looks like something I could have painted on myself with some craft supplies honestly. Also, the lamp shade just did not seem like it was pulled taut once it was assembled, and looked odd. I am an avid Amazon buyer (so much so that it is a joke among my friends and family) and I hate to write such a negative review, but I do not want others to be misled by these photos. I will attempt to upload my own photo that I took in my home for reference. I feel this product is not good value for the money, I have purchased nicer looking lamps from stores like Target and KMart for $30-$35.

I have been looking for a nice table lamp for our spare bedroom. I have an iron headboard and wanted something antique-looking. I've looked at lamps in the box stores-they look nice but have such a thin finish I know they would scratch easily. They cost more than I wanted to pay for a cheaply made lamp. I read the reviews for this lamp and purchased it. It is a good quality lamp with a good finish that won't scratch. It has a nice cloth shade and has the antique look I wanted. I'm very satisfied with this lamp.
