I ordered this lamp using a gift card I'd been given as a birthday present and when it arrived -HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! The lamp is just gorgeous, even better than I anticipated. LOVE the charming Foo Dog and pup on one side, the Asian calligraphy on the other. It's just the right size for a bedside table (my bedroom is Asian-themed, so this fit right in beautifully). The manufacturer suggests a 40-watt bulb but I spoke to a local lighting store and they said I could use up to a 75-watt bulb as long as I don't leave the lamp on for hours (which I had no intention of doing anyway).

ALSO something that isn't mentioned in the product description: the switch has 2-levels, low and high. When you first click it on the light isn't very bright, but just click it again and you have maximum brightness. I was surprised to discover this feature, but I really like it as there are times you only want a little 'mood lighting', LOL.

I would recommend this lamp to anyone who loves Foo Dogs or Asian decor!

I bought this lamp to put on a chest in a dark hallway. I wanted a chinese theme because the chest already host two white Foo dogs. I received the lamp quickly and the package was very well done.

The lamp is beautiful and is perfect as an accent lamp.

Things to know: the lamp is quite small and I would not use such a lamp for reading. The shade is in silk but it's not well fixed on the lamp and leans easily. I am quite please with this lamp and would definitely buy again from the same seller.
