Lamps are more substantial then I thought they would be. These lamps have a lot of detail. The face of the knight is painted, he has a moustache! If you use a really bright bulb, it is very visable through the shade, I don't suggest it. If you use a less harsh bulb, 45watts, then the bulb is not so defined, and the shade produces a design on the wall then enhances the room. I have gotten alot of compliments on these lamps.
