I was using this light for a week when it caught on fire. At first, it flickered. Then, there was smoke. I unplugged it and unscrewed the cap to find that the circuit board between the input power connector and the two resistors on the left of the board was burnt.
Thank God it was not turned on overnight or the whole building could have gone up.

Previous title: Excellent light & clamp, sturdy neck
Previous review:
This lamp is the best clamp-on lamp I've ever found. It is well worth the high price. The lamp illuminates an area of about 2-ft from a distance of about 3-ft off a surface. The lamp is not as bright as a halide but you won't need protection from infra-red, the fixture won't burn out in 6-months, and the lamp is cool.
The only negative is the neck is very stiff. This is also a plus because I've had clamps that won't stay put. I swivel my lamp so the neck must bend about 30 degrees from shown in the drawing. I was able to bend it and it works well filling the space with light near my computer.

I bought this to replace an old hot clip-on bedside lamp. I was sold on the prospect of the cool running LED illumination. I took the plunge based also on the first review and let me tell you I was not disappointed. This easily qualifies as the highest quality lamp I have seen of any kind. Everything screams industrial design quality from the base and clamp to the absolutely rigid yet flexible gooseneck. The hardware is easily designed to outlast the 60K hour LED elements! What surprised me at first is just how white this light is. Make no mistake this is as far from warm incandescent and CFL as you will likely get. The other caveat is it is designed strictly for very focused, close up illumination. For this requirement it is unmatched! For me, a voracious in-bed book reader, it is perfectly suited to not only very close and bright page turning, but for indirect lower light more 'cozy' reading sessions.
And in this, is where I have been surprised most of all! The fact that the light diffuses so quickly once the lamp is moved away from its target allows for an infinite amount of different lighting 'feels.' If I point it to the ceiling a more dim room lighting effect occurs, if I turn it close to the wall, I get a small pool of light effect for when I wake up in the night, etc. Of course this occurs with an lamp, but with the uberlight the effect is so much more dramatic, distinctive, controllable and pleasurable, even with such a white light.
This lamp would have been an excellent value at $100, but at the going rate you just cant beat it. If I cant get replacement LED's from Reliable I will buy another unit to make sure I am never without. And, no, I am not PR for the company, it is that good!

This is the perfect light for places where you need very focused light, but you have limited space and/or don't want something that gets in your way. I use this with my sewing machine. I can twist the neck so that it lights up the exact area I need.Honest reviews on Reliable 8000C UberLight LED Task Lamp with C-Clamp
I'm on my second UberLight, since the first one broke as soon as I took it out of the box. I initially gave this product a pretty harsh review, but the seller addressed the problem very quickly (with a phone call the very next day, no less) and promptly sent a replacement. They didn't even ask for the broken light back, so resolving this issue required little effort on my part. Five stars for customer service.I've been using the UberLight for a few weeks. The armature the flexible part is great. Good design; stiff enough to hold it's position but without excessive effort to move. The light itself is a little dim, and has a blue tint. On the plus side, you can get it close to your work without any heat. Another good point of the design is that the power supply is integrated into the base. No box that plugs into the wall socket. The LED's are rated for a very long life which is good, because I'm not sure how to replace them.
I use this for building scale models. It does not put out enough light to use by itself, and (I assume because it is LED), the color spectrum is off. Those two complaints make me question the $60 price. It's working out OK for my application but I also have two other lights in my work-space.
