Only one of the two lamps I ordered arrived but it's the holiday season so I don't think it was the shipper's fault. I agree with the other writer who said that it is difficult to assemble. I admittedly didn't pay close attention to the directions so I scratched the base screwing in the poles. Don't get excited like I did and read the directions. Also I used CFL bulbs and the low/high/off function works well; the instructions inside the box said it might only work best on the high setting. I disagree. The lamp shade is a perfect shade of ivory and the height is really nice. The base underneath (which no one sees) is an ugly plastic and I'm having issues tucking the excess chord under it ---if anyone solves this problem, please post. It casts a warm light above and below on the wall (the description said that all light is cast downward is which is inaccurate and didn't make sense anyway with the way the lampshade is designed). I'm really pleased with the design for the price! I looked in furniture stores and uglier lamps were twice the price. This is so much nicer than the wobbly crooked lamps of my youth...it will look beautiful in your home!

I really love the look of this lamp, however the first one I received was unable to be assembled due to the holes in the base not lining up (after a good 30 minutes of trying to assemble it). Luckily Amazon is very good with returns however it was still a pain to have to re-pack the lamp and take time to mail it. Love the aesthetics but also wish that it was a little taller.Best Deals for Duet Floor Lamp
The lamp directions were not very clear and I had to play around with the parts (multiple tubes) to get it to work. It does look nice in my living room and has a very contemporary look. Light apparatus works fine.
