The stand is very lovely, heavily weighted at the bottom and just what I needed to hang my Moroccan candle lantern on. I tossed the shade and eliminated the electrical cord and voila!--a beautiful objet d'art. I love it! As I write my candle lantern is twinkling away. It may have made a nice lamp but my use is so much more original and classier! The company that sold it shipped it out in a timely fashion, however the lamp was not well made.
