I already have one of these lamps which I have used for the past 7 years, and it still works great. I've always liked it because it illuminates a soft yellow color tone and the rotary light switch is dimmmable. That's why I decided to buy a second one for another area of my room.
The base on the lamp is sturdy and adjusting the height generally works great. Only minor thing is that the neck does not seem to have a sweet spot where the lamp neck can freely swivel with one hand. The lamp comes with a little screwdriver that can be used to tighten/loosen the pivot areas at the base and at the middle of the neck. The third pivot point is at the base of the lamp head, which can be tightened/loosened by a small hex key, which is not included. The pivot point at the lamp head worked great out of the box and I didn't have to adjust the tension there at all. The lamp head sits on a ball joint so it can rotate to almost any position you want.
However, the lamp that I got is not dimmmable as described in the product description. The lamp I received had a light switch with three settings off, low, and high. I'm not sure if they discontinued this feature or if there are two slightly different versions. I was a little bummed about this maybe they sent me the incorrect item, but oh well. This is the only reason I did not give this product 5 stars.
Overall, this is an excellent lamp especially for the price. Quality build, excellent lighting, looks nice and worth it even with the dimming feature missing. Hopefully someone can update their product description so that other buyers are not misinformed.

this light is hard to adjust it is either too stiff or else it collapses i think the head, which is big, is too heavy for the the arms

This light looks very attractive. While the picture shows an almost green tint to the lens, it's actually a warm white when on. I find that the low setting is plenty of light to type or read by, using the bright setting only when examining a small part. My only gripe and why 1 star is missing is the friction material used in the joints. When tightened securely enough to keep from moving, the joints are hard to adjust. Perhaps this will change as the joints get adjusted more. As of now, I need to hold one hand on the base while I adjust the light or the base moves instead of the light.

I just received the desk lamp and was disappointed it wasn't in the green tone that is shown, otherwise, it all works very well. I should have read that the finish is brushed nickel as explained in product detail. Otherwise it appears quite sturdy, easy to adjust and dimmer works! I'll be happy to keep it!
