When I ordered the plasma lamp, my mom thought I bought a lava lamp, whcich I would not recommend buying because its a fire hazard.
When I first turned it on, it lit right up and the plasma started glowing just as it was supposed to do. But about twenty second after I turned it on, I chose to touch it, the plasma was very new and it hasn't beened turned on maybe once or twice to make sure it worked, the charge was strong enough to make a buzzing sound when you touch it; but after you keep it on for about 24 hours, its safe to touch.
Also after a while, when you have used it for about six months, thats when the plasma begins to wear down, you can easily remove the glass, and replace the aluminum fillings inside the dome. MAKE SURE ITS TURNED OFF WHEN YOU DO THIS!!!!!!
Its safe, its cool to look at, its relaxing, and just plain cool to look at. You won't be dissappointed when you buy this product; but don't take my word for it buy it yourself and find out.

I really love this lamp. But only one thing I don't really like is the glass is to thin. It might break easily so it's a very delicate item I hope nothing happens to it. It's one of those cool things I think that needs to be behind a glass cabinet for display. I do think it's super awesome but it needs to be made thicker or better. Because I'm not confadent it will last too long:/

I got this lava lamp for my son for Christmas. He's wanted one for quite some time and picked this one out of the Discovery catalogue. I ordered it from Amazon, of course for the quick and free shipping. It is just as impressive, if not more in person than in the catalogue or online images. My kids love how it looks at night when they go to bed. It serves as a fantastic night light and cool accessory to their room. The size is also nice, a little taller than some of the other lamps I looked at. The electro current is interesting; the current will follow your finger wherever you move it on the glass when you touch it, which is another big hit with my kids. All in all, a great product, especially for kids and teenagers.

Worked exactly the way the description said it would and the plasma effect was cool as expected. Still is working %100 normally. Would definitely recommend for someone looking to buy a somewhat affordable, yet interesting present for someone or themselves.
