The shade is beautiful, although a little smaller than I thought it would be. Base looks black rather than an antique bronze. I kept it and use chandelier bulbs .

I hesitated before purchasing this light. The price seemed to be rather high. However, I was comparing this lamp to the lights I have seen at local retail shops.That was not a fair comparison. The lamps I could find locally were made with a very rough looking base that did nothing for the light.
This base is very well done, heavy with smooth refined edges. It has two pull chains. I have two 65 watt daylight bulbs in it. The glass shines through with great color.
It is an expensive lamp but frankly I feel I got my moneys worth. It will last long past my lifetime.
