First, I'll say I got this at a STEAL via the Warehouse -and because it was a used return, someone did a crappy job of quality control. The socket was bent, so was the shade, and it was missing its harp and the finial shown in the pic. It wasn't a huge problem for me: I scavenged the harp/finial from the lamp I was throwing away, and some gentle bending and twisting got both socket and shade reasonably straight. Still, I give 'em the benefit of the doubt that the issue was with the Warehouse not checking its condition and not the lamp's original manufacture. SO -IF I'd bought it new, and assuming that a new model was factory-fresh with all its parts, this is really a lovely lamp, which will add a touch of elegance to any room. The glass balls look delicate but are, in fact, really sturdy with a warm bronze-y reflection, and the lampshade is all good things -retro, unique, and very Atomic-age in style (i.e., oval, not round). The height is excellent and the shade's shape allows for a really good (but not overpowering) glow. All other parts were in flawless condition and it actually looks a lot nicer in person than in the photo. It's really fab in a room with other gold or bronze highlights in the decor, and could make a great holiday season lamp too with a bright bow on it. I wouldn't pay full retail for this but Amazon's discount is MORE than fair. Nice lamp, and it's already gotten compliments from others.
