This lamp is used as a desk lamp for a new custom built home office. All of the furniture (desk, book cases,etc.) were custom built for this room and I wanted a high quality mission or craftsman style desk lamp to compliment this room. I am totally pleased with every aspect of this lamp. Most of the lamps I looked at had bases that were made of resin. This appears to be heavier and a metal base. Appearance is unique and excellent. Quality is excellent. Exactly what I wanted.

I bought this lamp -without the dimmable feature, at a substantially lower price -through a museum.The base and post are metal and quite substantial. Note that each side of the shade is a single sheet of glass with a cut-out metal overlay forming the design. I'm also using mine as a desk lamp and really like its appearance in my very non-custom home office.
