I'd been comparing OttLite models for a couple of months when I settled on this one. It's larger than some of the other desk models, but it does the job. I've been familiar with this company for years, and I've always considered them the standard-bearer for reading lamps. The bright light really improves readability, bringing print in to sharper focus. I have reading glasses, but I don't always use them with this lamp. That's how good it is. I also found the pricing available here on Amazon to be the best around. Highly recommended.

I bought this lamp for my work. I don't usually have windows and I was working night shift for a month and a half. So every night I used this lamp; I called it the sun. I did quite well and I think the lamp helped me reverse my days and nights. Now I have it in my cube now. I really like the natural lighting.

now dont get me wrong, I LOVE my Ottlite but when I received my lamp the lightbulb was shattered in the box. Why was there no wrapping around it?! Other than that I'm completely satisfied

Color is great, and is built durably. SO much so that I am able to hang a hat over the top and not lose its balance. Might even hold bose headphones up. I would recommend ordering an Ottlite with an adjustable arm. This one is great but incovenient if you wanna sit back and watch something because you will get light in the face. For me, my hat blocks light in eyes.
