A guy at work brought this bad boy in when the temperature was about 90 degrees. Holy cow did this thing make a difference. It's just the right size. It's small enough that you can pick it up and move it around, and it's not so loud that you can't hear over it. It seems to be of solid construction, and when you tilt it upit stays tilted. It has a perfect balance of weight/size to make it powerful/durable and yet still portable/practical. I'm getting one for myself.

I first ordered a used one. It arrived in the original box. It was severely damaged (cylindrical frame dented in multiple places, motor mount bolts bent and grill guard screws stripped). I returned it easily and received a full refund.I then ordered a new one for $. Unfortunately, it arrived damaged. It was shipped in the original box, but the packaging is not rigid enough to prevent the thin frame from being dented. It was dented to the extent that one of the blades was bent. I was also able to return it easily and received a full refund.
I hadn't looked anywhere else other than Amazon for a high velocity fan when I found this fan. After returning the second damaged fan, I found a very nice, comparably priced ($) fan at Lowes (Utilitech 24" Orbital Drum Fan). This fan is very well constructed. It has cross bars that both support the motor and reinforce the cylindrical frame. For the price, I'd recommend this fan (). If you could get the MAXXAIR without it having to be shipped to you and for much less $$$, it would probably be a decent fan.

I ordered and received (promptly) two of these fans. The reviews mentioned very poor packaging they were not kidding! Worst boxes ever!!! Both units were badly damaged and the boxes were completely trashed upon receipt the FedEx guy was very surprised I even accepted them. After about an hour in my shop they were both working but one vibrates badly I'll deal with the blade balance issue later. Both drums were smashed so far in they hit the fan blades. These boxes (with no inner packaging) are not even good enough for pick up from a big box store! This was so far below Amazon shipping standards they should be embarrassed. Why did I keep them? I need fans in my shop for this weekend when the temp is going to hit 108 degrees Southern Arizona in May! Be prepared with an 8mm wrench and a small sledge hammer to make repairs from "normal" shipping. Numerous screws were very loose and several were stripped before I even touched them. Make sure you check and tighten everything before plugging it in! Also, a bit of electrical tape or a small plastic or rubber cap should be placed on the long bare screw protruding near the electrical cord or you could cut the end of the screw off both my units have damaged cords from that sharp ill-placed (and too long) screw. The damage happened during shipping but normal cord movement will also result in a sliced cord Zap! This may not be UL approved. These fans are very cheap, of poor construction and are poorly assembled and the boxes are completely worthless. Would I buy these again? NO! In all fairness, do they move air? Yes.Honest reviews on Ventamatic BF24TF YEL MaxxAir 24-Inch High-Velocity 2-Speed
This is a great industrial fan that will move a lot of air, however, when you recieve it have a flat head screw driver and a hammer ready. Their is no protection what-so-ever in the box for the fan and it gets pretty mangled during shipping. You WILL have to remove the front guard and use a hammer to beat out the sidewalls round again. They should definatly put more quality into their shipping process. The fans still work great but you will have to work on them first.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Ventamatic BF24TF YEL MaxxAir 24-Inch High-Velocity 2-Speed
This fan doesn't put out the airflow I expected from the specifications. It produced very little more air than my 18" fan. I don't think the square blades are efficiant air-movers. The motor only pulls 2.7 amps, not 3.6. I measured with my KillaWatt meter. I'd try a FloPro next time, hopefully they're more honest with their specs. It also vibrates heavily and has to be placed on foam rubber to absorb the sound.
