I bought two of these and they are really nice looking lamps. They are solid wood and the workmanship on the base is very nice. However, I was disappointed that the socket did not have a three-way switch. It's only rated for 60w and that's just not enough light from the new CF bulbs for reading in bed. It would have been much better to have the option of a three-way bulb for more light and I'll probably have to make that change myself. And, the threads inside the wood knob that holds the shade in place have already stripped out on one of the lamps. So, for overall appearance I would have given this a 5 but because of the switch and the knob I had to take off a couple of stars.
