I bought these lamps several months ago. For the price, I was half-expecting three wobbly lamps. So I was quite pleased to receive, instead, a set of sturdy, stylish lamps. They are made in China, so while I can't comment on the material content, I can report that the lamps were carefully wrapped and meticulously packaged--there was not so much as a wrinkle on a lamp shade, and the lamps themselves were in perfect condition. As I am not particularly good at DIY projects, I was happy that the lamps were already prewired, with all of the parts in place. It only required screwing the linked pieces together, a task that even I could handle easily.

Each lamp uses two light bulbs of up to 100 watts each, giving plenty of light for reading. They don't take three-way bulbs, but the dual pull chains give you an option for how much light you use. They also accomodate the spiral, "greener" light bulbs without browning the shades. As I have said, these lamps are sturdy, and the bronze finish is attractive and glossy.

After three months of daily use, these lamps look as good as the day I unpacked them. The only "flaw" that I have found is that one of my cats thinks the pull chains are cat toys, and so occasionally he manages to turn on a lamp in the middle of the night. And I don't suppose I can really blame that on the manufacturer or amazon.com!

The bottom line is, this is an attractive and sturdy set of lamps, and an excellent value. I highly recommend them.

We bought these when they were $83, and for that price I expected the lamps to be slightly dodgy. One lampshade arrived with a crinkle, but nothing else was wrong with this set. They're fairly contemporary in style, and they compliment the rest of our furniture. We've got CFL bulbs in them, and they look great, no brown spots as the first reviewer noted. They were well-packaged, and it took me about 45 minutes to assemble all of them.

With both lights on in each lamp the room is as bright as midday.

One light on in a lamp is bright enough to read by.

Would buy again, when time for new ones I'll look for these again.

These lamps are great and have really made our apartment feel like a home. They are much nicer than another set of lamps we purchased at the same time and we do not regret the purchase at all.

When the lamps arrived, one of the lamp shades had a minor defect (a wrinkled shade). After a bit of struggle, I found the generic customer service address for Kenroy Home they manufacturer. I wrote an e-mail describing the issue and hoped that someone (even an automated reply) would get back to me. A customer service representative, Jenee, replied to my e-mail telling me that the parts were on back order but that one would be shipped out promptly.

When I followed up with Jenee, she replied with a tracking number and a week later my lamp shade had arrived, no questions asked. I wish more companies dealt with customer issues in this way.

Great product, great customer service; you can't ask for more than that.

After looking at many sets of lamps, I finally decided on this one. I just remodeled my house and bought new furniture the lamps I had were beautiful but didn't give very good light. My son-in-law came today and unpacked these and set them up. I couldn't be more pleased. They are sturdy, give wonderful light and fit right into the decor. I was nervous about ordering without really seeing them and about the packing and shipping safety but everything was fine. I would truly give these lamps a 5 star rating.
