I saw a review of this product in the "New Gadget" area of our Sunday Newspaper, and thought it would be really neat, BUT the refills for the ink are very small, do not last very long, and must be ordered from the company as they are not available in my area at our local stationary stores, thus with shipping costs are expensive! I am used to using gel ink pens, and these are regular ballpoints, so I really think they were a waste of my time and money!

I ordered this pen for my husband, who likes to get up at night and write down his dreams. He ended up buying another pen because: 1) The light on this pen is very bright and would light up the whole room. He rubberbanded a small balloon around the light bulb to dim it. 2) because the light is attached to a wire on the side of the pen, my husband said his hand would often block the light from what he was actually writing.
He found another where the light actually comes out around the writing tip, and he's a lot happier with that one.

We bought these lighted pens as a gift. Got an extra one for ourselves. As a pen they write great, but as a light they aren't so great. Ours worked for about a week. The one we gave as a gift lasted less than two weeks. The flexible light shaft comes loose from the pen and the lights stop working. Keep looking, there must be better lighted pens than these.
