I'd love to give this lamp five stars, but it has one serious problem that prevents it from being a beautiful lamp for a good price. The metal piece that threads into the stem that flows into the decorative base is too long. Therefore, the glass shade doesn't drop down low enough to cover the two light bulbs. I purchased the smallest blubs I could find, but no matter what, both bulbs GLARE OUT BELOW THE SHADE. I even bought a lower end table to set the lamp on but it looks so bad with the bulbs glaring below that I can't enjoy the lamp and rarely turn it on. If the piece with the threading were three inches shorter, the shade could set low enough to cover the bulbs. I emailed the "Warehouse of Tiffany" and asked where I can get a shorter piece. I hope they respond; otherwise the lamp is a waste to me!
I received an answer from "Warehouse of Tiffany" today. They said the piece that's too long is called a "pipe" and that I can probably purchase a shorter one from Home Depot for about $6. I'm leaving the two stars because I shouldn't have to purchase a piece to make a $150 lamp look right. They should have offered to fix the problem for me!
UPDATE: I received a second email from the warehouse, asking for a photo of the "pipe" piece, as well as a shipping address to send the right piece to. That was weeks ago. I'll let you know if the problem gets resolved. Meanwhile I've searched all over the place and nobody makes a "pipe" short enough to fix the problem.
FINAL UPDATE: The warehouse was going to charge me $25 to send the correct piece to me. I asked why I should pay for a piece that should have been part of the lamp I'd ALREADY PURCHASED, and they claimed it was a shipping charge. I wrote back and told them the small piece could be sent by Priority Mail for just five bucks. I never heard from them again. Meanwhile, Amazon (THEY GET FIVE STARS, THIS OTHER COMPANY GETS ZERO) refunded me $25. I'll probably have to have the shorter "pipe" piece custom made. Meanwhile the lamp remains turned off until I can make the shade cover the glaring bulbs. SO...if you purchase this lamp, I'd recommend you find it elsewhere but not at "Warehouse of Tiffany."We purchased two of these matching lamps for our bedside tables. We are very pleased with the lamps. They are nice looking and good quality. They look lovely when you turn the lights on.
