I love the quality of the light this thing puts out as it makes it easy to read paperwork while not interfering with my LCD computer screen. The smaller wattage is just right for my needs. It has a small foot print and it is not too tall for desks with overhead storage.

The bad news is that the thing started flickering and then died. It claims the bulb is good for 10,000 hours but I had it for about 18 months and I am sure I never came close to that 10,000 hour number. It started to have a transformer burning smell to it for the last couple of days when it stopped working, so I think it was the transformer that burned out, not the bulb. The bulb is about $8 but I couldn't find one in stock anywhere in town, so I just bought another OttLite lamp, although a different model (GX7825 13 watts instead of 9 watts). I bought this new lamp at a local store because they carried spare bulbs.

This light is exactly what I have been looking for. I am now able to clearly see the right side of the needle to stitch the 1/4 inch seam required for quilting!! The light does not interfere with my work.

This light is on my desk at work and it fits in nicely since I don't have much room. The bulb needs to warm up a little when first turning it on but once warm it's bright enough without being too glary. It looks nice too.
