I have just started playing around with LED lighting and plan to do lots of it. This was one of the options I was hoping to use in the kitchen as indirect lighting under the cabinets but they really aren't birght enough for that purpose. Instead, I will be using them along the top of the cabinets as accent lighting. A better pick for under the counter would be 5050 LED strips and buying in bulk. These are useful but not they way I originally intended.

Went through the same drill as Badabing did. Same results, :( Ended up putting the LED strip in aluminum channel and lacing monofilament line down its length, then screwing that channel up under the shelf. The remote works....eventually, but when working has a nice "show-off" reward.Apparently LED technology has surpassed sticky tape technology, at least in China.

I bought two sets of these lights for twin bookshelves in my office. They worked great right out of the box. The remote from one works with the other set as well. The remote works fine, even from across the room. The lights are bright enough to light the book case top shelf, but I wouldn't use them for task lighting (such as working on a model airplane or something like that), there are much better light solutions for such things. I like that the LEDs can be dimmed with the remote as well, nice feature to have.Installation was very simple. I drilled a hole in the back of the bookcase, threaded the LED strip through, stuck the power box and remote sensor to the back of the bookcase (keeping the eye of the sensor sticking out the side of the case), and plugged it in. I cut the LED strip to the right length, peeled the cover on the adhesive backing, and stuck them to the ceiling of the bookcase. It looked fantastic. The other one was even easier because I already knew how long to cut the strip of lights.
Unfortunately, the first set failed to remain stuck and I found them on the shelf the next day. I stuck them back up and pressed harder... no luck, a few hours later they came down again. I used some heavy duty doublesided tape next. I put a strip of tape the entire lenght of the bookcase top and stuck the light strip on it with a lot of pressure. This lasted another day and they came down again. The adhesive on the back of the light strip is just very inadequate (by the way, the bookcase is all wood).
I finally resorted to tacking the light strip up with heavy duty staples. This worked but was a real pain to accomplish. The second set seemed to stick...for about three days, then BAM it came down too. Staples for that sucker as well.
All in all, I would recommend these if you have a better way to adhere them to the surface you're using.

The one complaint I might have about this, is that the base needs a little more weight to it. I went to the craft store and picked up some small weights, and glued them into the bottom. Now there isn't a thing at all to complain about.

It's a very nice stylish lamp. I really like the look and shape. The only thing is, it was a little annoying to put together. I had trouble screwing the lamp shade part on to the stand and getting it to STAY! It would loosen up and wobble. You have to be very delicate with it and all the pieces. I found this lamp with a filter for a dimmer switch turned on. The two that I bought, despite the description, have no dimmer switch. But they do accomplish my other goals my toddler has already knocked one over and turned over the nightstand on top of it, and it didn't shatter (unlike its predecessor, a ceramic-bodied lamp) and no serious harm was done (he managed not to crush the shade). It's OK value for money, and more durable than the ones I had before. I bought dimmable LED lights to go in them (also durable) but the dimmable feature turns out to be unnecessary.

This lamp gives off an ample amount of light. I use it as a Computer desk lamp and to shed light on model cars I build. It does give off a few light clicks, but that is just when it is first turned on, and is caused by the expanding metals and plastics. It is to be expected with any halogen lamp since they produce a high amount of heat around they bulb. Overall this is the perfect lamp for me.

This is a halogen light, so it gets hot? You should never place a halogen light in a location where it might be dislodged and come into contact with flammable materials.That said, the light is bright, the clamp is strong, and the price is inexpensive. If you're looking for such a light, you'll probably like this light.

I touched the top of this lamp by accident when moving it just after powering it off and unplugging it and it gave me burns blisters on three finger tips, which hurt like the dickens.To test the heat I put a plastic baggy on the glass covering the halogen bulb and it melted immediately into a ball. While I know halogens get very, very hot, usually there is a protective cover over the bulb, such as a mesh, that this lamp doesn't have.
This lamp may be suitable to just sit in a corner and get sparse use, but it isn't safe in any active household, especially with children. Further, it might be a fire hazard in general. After all it's made out of Chinese plastic... and I have a grudge against Chinese plastic since I once got chemical burns from a pair of sandals. Off topic, sorry, but it speaks to lack of trustworthyness.

This lamp is many steps down in quality from the lamps that I deem are worth buying. If you're buying this for studying because you're a student (college, graduate, medical school, etc.) who needs a good studying lamp, don't waste your $20 on this. This lamp is very orange, very short, very hot, and the red color is unflattering. When you study, you definitely want a full spectrum light or one that uses CFL bulbs since the wattage is much lower, brighter, and your arms and face won't feel like they're burning under the lamp (no exaggeration intended). You also want a lamp that is at least 2ft because you'll soon realize that this lamp gets really close to your literature (below your eye level when you're sitting at a desk) which doesn't help because it's so hot.Your $20 can be used to buy a desk lamp that's >2ft and uses white lights. Don't waste money when you have a better alternative. Take my advice as someone who studies.

I bought this light hoping to clip it to a table to use for supplemental lighting for macrophotography (along with my ring light). The light is bright (as I expected), the neck moves around, the clip is strong, and it stays where I put it.Overall, this light is exactly what I expected. Halogen lights are supposed to be bright and hot, so when it was those things, it came as no surprise to me.

Received from another site, but still from the same company and I'm very happy with what I received. I bought them for my bedroom and they look great. Very little effort to put them together and were packed very well. I was nervous about the shades, but they were packed in a very smart way. I would certainly recommend, BUT beware, in order to replace a bulb you will have to remove the harp. Just no wiggle room to replace a bulb without removing the harp. Didn't try, but don't really think you could get a swirl (CLF) bulb in this lamp. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Wow, what can I say. This guy can sing. His first single, "Beautiful Concept" was good, but the new one is even better "They're all about you". This is what country is all about. Not all poppy, but some good new country with just enough twang. "Pickup Truck" is hilarious and the title track is really catchy and inspiring. There are some great slow songs too that you will love. This is one CD I am spinning alot and can't decide which is my favorite cut. I would highly recommend it, even if you think you don't like country, I think you would be pleasantly surprised. Too bad you can't hear the tracks here, but think you can listen to some on his website.

The first order had to be replaced as the most critical part of this item, the candle holder that fits in the bottom, was missing. Both the seller and Amazon did a superb job in handling this mistake. I first tried a tea candle when I received the replacement which worked just fine. Then a votive candle!!!!! While certainly a votive candle gives a prettier appearance and lasts much longer, it was my experience to have a significant mess made by the melting wax. I had wax melt thru the bottom onto the surface where the item was sitting and had to take it apart to clean up the melted wax inside. I am open to suggestions if anyone can explain how to keep a taller votive candle from not creating the melted wax mess.Five stars for customer service, three stars for appearance, one star or less when using a votive candle as advertised.
February 15, 2013 update. Even after several months and others experiencing what I did, that is, this WILL NOT work with a votive candle, the description has not changed. Buyers, be warned!

I just use this lamp with little LED candles. The frosted bit doesn't obscure the light enough to make it seem like a real candle, but it does look nice and just as it appears in the picture. I got it used and never really notice the slight scratches on sides or metal bits. It is heavy and stable, fits very well on the desk. I use 60w soft white bubble light, and it works great for studying. After using few hours, top part of the light becomes so hot, one should be careful. It arrived on the very first day of the expected shipping date range.
In case you haven't noticed, other models of the same type of lamps from Park Madison are rather pricey (some are over US$300) -which, given the overall quality, is not surprising. But then this is also why this particular one is quite a steal!

The idea of this lamp is good, and the compact size and flexiblity are good. Despite the description, however it is not close to "superbright." In late-afternoon daylight the light was noticeable but dim. Also, the magnet in the base becomes unglued almost immediately, leaving the magnet behind when you try to move the lamp. One of the two I ordered came with the magnet missing altogether.

Not as much light as I thought it would put out, and the magnet is recessed just enough that it doesn't hold onto the sewing machine like I thought it would. A little disappointed.
