Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program In short, this is an awesome USB light. The light itself is well made, featuring sturdy plastics in both the housing and compound lens, and a flexible metal gooseneck. Unlike cheap LED lights that throw a dim bluish spot, this light gives relatively neutral, even illumination across a wide area. The light output is more than sufficient for "up close" work such as reading/hobby/crafts, and it's adequate for general-purpose lighting of arm's length jobs such as working underneath a sink, etc. This light will not replace your general-purpose room lighting or your desk lamp, but it's really quite bright! I've owned a couple of book-lights and USB lights in the past and I was quite pleased with the overall performance of this product.

Adjustable Brightness The 16 LEDs can be too bright!

Light Diffuser to "soften" the light As with any multi-point light source, object that gets in the way of the light can cast multiple shadows, making this light somewhat unsuitable for photographic illumination of small products

On/Off Switch on the light Sometimes you just want to turn off the light when it's plugged into the computer

Heavier Base If you turn the light to an extreme angle on either side, it is prone to tipping over

Notes:

1) This light draws ~496mA @ 5V when connected via USB, which is pretty similar in terms of power to a USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive. Assuming a modern laptop with 50WHr battery and ~5-6 hour typical runtime, this translates into ~15-20 minute penalty.

2) Besides computers or the included base, this light can be plugged into just about any standard charger with a USB port, and it will work normally. This includes iPhone and iPad chargers, Kindle chargers, USB power ports, and even car chargers with USB ports!

3) When used with 2000mAh NiMH rechargeable batteries, I got about ~12 hours of runtime.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This light is extrememely bright and helpful for trips, reading at night and for those times when you don't want to disturb others. Those airplace lights aren't as good as this.

Plus you can hook it up to your computer and it will light your keyboard. Handy instead of a flashlight, too.

You can use it with USB power with your computer or using batteries. It takes very little to power it yet the light is more than sufficient to read by. You can adjust it and move it around just the way you like. I'm amazed at the price for what you get.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I use this light either plugged into my computer or as a stand alone. It lives up to the super bright title and has an even and wide illumination span. The flexible stem makes adjusting easy, allowing for multiple angles and rotation. I was worried that the light portion would make this system top heavy, but the base really does its job to maintain balance. The base also has low profile grips so it won't slide around on smooth surfaces. I use it on a portable desk and it is very stable. Perfect for when you need light but don't want to disturb those around you. I use while working in bed instead of my book light or dimming overhead. It provides plenty of light where needed, without being annoying or glaring. It does use batteries when in the stand/desk top stand, but easily plugs into a usb. The only drawback is when your batteries die. You either have to carry spares or will be limited to the usb drive use only. No plug in power source is available. I haven't packed batteries during travel in a while, so this might be a problem down the road. A recharge/adapter would be ideal, but if you can get over using batteries, this light is pretty awesome.
