I have bought lots of floor lamps. This one did not work out too well. The problem is that the length of the shade combined with the height of the pole results in the bulb glaring when it is placed near a couch or a chair. It is pretty but if you are going to use it next to a couch or chair, be sure the chair is of a sufficient height or you are tall enough that the bulb won't glare back at you.
