The lamp shade is of good quality, and the antique brass looks very nice with the exception of the "lines" on the base--They are painted on, and do not follow the embedded guidelines of the design (places missed, or not in the pattern) --at least on my particular lamp--From 3 feet or more away, the effect is good, and it is a good reading light---just don't look too closely at the design!

I like this lamp a lot. It has a lovely built in light in the base which is just enough light to function as a night light. I put it on an antique table and it looks fabulous, and I think it looks better than the picture. I would highly recommend it.
