I bought this lamp along with the "Kenroy Suspension Slate Table Lamp" and they make a lovely couple. This one is quite striking. The slate is real, which is what I wanted. Some "slate" lamps are resin or other man-made material -read carefully. The real slate and the heavy metal base make this a sturdy lamp. And, despite its slim profile, it does give the appearance of a full-sized table lamp. I have dogs and cats and need robust lamps that stay put. These do. The shades seem smaller and slightly darker in color in person, but still go nicely. Granted, it is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for with this one. Very nice quality. Oh, and the slate slab actually does hang in "free fall" it can swing back and forth slightly within the iron frame.

For the price...or even had it been higher priced, this is a really attractive, solid lamp. I liked the look of it in the pictures, but was still a little wary about how sturdy it may be. I was so pleased when it arrived (very quickly!) and was such good quality.I did end up changing the shade, because the bright white of the shade was a little glaring, but that's a personal preference. I wish now that they offered the same design in a standing lamp. Love it!!
