This piano lamp is just what I wanted: good indirect light, with a very nice design! The two arm adjustments ensure it's in just the right position to read the music, without the glare of a table lamp. The base is heavy enough that the lamp won't tip over, no matter how it's adjusted. And, the bronze finish and design are very classy. The only down side is that you have to be careful turning off the lamp. Because the switch is 6-8 inches down the cord, the first time I did it, I almost burned my arm on the metal shade. Children beware -it gets almost as hot as a pancake griddle!

When I began shopping for a piano lamp, I discovered how pricey they are. You can spend hundreds if you want to. The House of Troy name kept popping up and this is one of their lowest priced offerings. It is perfectly satisfactory. Nice heavy base keeps it from toppling, even when fully extended. Decent craftsmanship. Lots of adjustments let you cast the light just where you need it. Overall I am very pleased. This lamp takes 2 tube-shaped forty-watt bulbs; I prefer the frosted kind because there is less glare.Best Deals for House Of Troy AP14-41-91 Advent Collection 12-Inch Adjustable

The lamp is a fine lamp for piano. The oil rubbed bronze finish is nice but is closer to a pewter than what you'd find in the Oil Rubbed Delta faucets. It is adjustable several different ways and fits nicely on top of our Kawai K3 upright piano.Pros :
* Nice look.
* Very wide and houses 2 x T10 lamps to cover a large music book.
* Well built for an imported lamp.
Cons :
* Price. It is a quality lamp, but I don't know if I'd pay one sixty for a lamp made in China. Nothing wrong with a made in China lamp, but I don't feel that the price matches the import.
* Power switch. On our Kawai K3, it falls behind the piano so the cord must be pulled up to turn on/off not a big deal, but still worth noting
* Heat. I was putting 2 x 40w Reveal lamps in and they would burn up within about 2 months. I found some cheapie 15 or 20w lamps and they are much cooler temp and haven't burned up in the 6 months they've been installed.
* Closer to pewter than the warmer oil rubbed bronze
It is a great lamp and we are happy with it, but the few cons make it 4 stars.

First off, the photo really due this lamp no justice. It offers a much more high quality appeal in person with its bronze shining through on the corners of the lamp it really has an eligant look to it. The weight is there as well and doesn't feel like it would fall over too easily with an accidental bump.This take two 40 watt T10 tubular bulbs. I see the other review wishing it was LED, however this is an easy fix by simply buying an LED bulb that replaces this. I personally have not found an LED that puts off the light color I like yet. The only thing I would felt a bit higher quality is the power cord. First off it should black not brown.
For the price it is a competitive lamp that would look great in nearly any room. It is made in China, however that does NOT mean its cheap.
