Just what I was looking for to replace one that, after decades of use, had shorted out. It is heavy enough to stay put when the arm is extended. The only thing I could wish for is that it had 3-way capability.

Nice lamp, smaller than I thought it would be though. One lamps arm mechanism broke with just a little bump, so it doesn't swing easily, comes out of it socket. They look nice but I would not buy again due to lack of durability.

I feel like I am in a library when I turn these on. The light bulb that came with the lamp did not fit the lamp. But, the lampshade is so beautiful that it doesn't matter.
