I gave the this lamp one star since no option was given for lower than one-star rating!

As a professional artist who has done stained glass work for over twentytwo years, I was stunned by the dismal quality of the two lamps I had ordered. These two were ordered for my nine-year old granddaughter's bedroom. At this price, $122.40 each I figured the shades won't be great but it didn't matter since the life expectancy of any lamp in a nine-year old's room with two younger siblings around, is not very long anyway. My own work goes for over $3,000 and I didn't think it wise to make my own for her..yet.

But I was not prepared for the absolutely abject quality of workmanship and material of these shades. Starting from the quality of glass: almost opaque, cloudy, muddy colors. Cuts: uneven, poorly executed. Foiling: incomplete, improperly crimped, some pieces not crimped and flattened at all. Most important of all, soldering and beading: miserable job of assembling the pieces using minimal amount of solder that was sort of SCRAPED on joints rather than BEADED (raised and rounded) which is important for strength and stability. This was on the outer suface. The back, or inside surface was even worse. The copper foil on some pieces was NOT EVEN CRIMPED, much less soldered. The glass pieces can fall off this way.

The entire shade therefore, was flexible and shaky to feel, not solid and well-bonded as it should be. Both the shades were this way. I didn't unpack the rest of the package so cannot comment on the quality of the base.

My advice: don't waste your money on these pathetic items.

Really pretty. It's a very tall lamp though, so if you have tall end tables, this may not be the lamp for you. Also, I didn't expect so much purple in the lamp but it looks nice enough.

Lamp arrived in two days. Packed very well and is easy to put together. When it is on at night the different colors look amazing. Can't beat the price. Looks great on any table or even a desk. Heavy and solid. Looks like it cost a whole lot more. Very happy!
