It is difficult to judge how a floor lamp will fit your living and reading needs, but we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and versatility of this lamp. It swivels to any position and provides lots of focused light without bathing dark areas where people are watching television I highly recommend this for living areas with multiple seating arrangements

I might give this light a five star rating. But the delivery was a one star. I like the twin lights. They can be easily adjusted to come right over your book or whatever you are doing. The light is directed at your reading material so the person in the chair next to yours can watch tv without being bothered. The light is bright and makes reading easy. The lamp does not stand terribly tall unless you put the lights up to their fullest height and aim for the ceiling. So it isn't in the way of artwork on the wall. It is unobtrusive and very functional in our family room between our chairs. The lamp base is heavy so it is very stable. Also the lamp itself is made somewhat heavy duty so I think it will be durable.The base of this unit was slightly dented upon arrival. The package it came in was falling apart. I was amazed there wasn't more damage. I was too busy and frazzled to bother trying to return the item. I would have had to find a new box. Where was I going to come up with one big enough that would safely hold this item? So I have a brand new lamp that cost a couple hundred dollars with a dent in the base.

It is a nice bright light. The on/off switch is easy to use (although it's a shame there is no dimmer function). The little handles get quite hot I am thinking of taking them off and just using the neck to adjust instead. Nice light overall.
