i have bought alot of items from amazon and up to this point had very good results. but these lamps are the cheapest gagbage i have ever ordered through any online store . was sad to find they were made of cheap plastic not ceramic . the coloring detail looked like a child was given a paint brush and was unsupervised. and painted areas were not solid , and contained little specks of none painted areas. the rings of gold paint that highlight the highpoints went from an 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch in an eratic wavy line. ( UGLY ) and high point on flowers looked like they just slaped a paint brush with gold paint againest them ( blaches ) of paint NOT highlighted box they came in was dented and looked like they used garbage for packing crushed styrofoam micro styrofoam dust that went airbourne and stuck to everything my rug, funiture, drapes. must have disengraded over its long trip from china , witch i gathered from the tiny sticker half stuck to the felt bottom of the LAMP? of course the felt was not centered and glued properly. obviously this lamp had not seen day light sence it was thrown on the boat in shangihai so to everyone that is thinking of buying this lamp DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only resson i gave this a star is that i wanted it to be posted . very very unsatisfied and out 129.00 for them the only reson i havent returned them yet is that i just moved into a new apt and need to see. and happy they liteup. but that 30 day return is a blessing:) AMAZON DONT let distibutors like this ruin your rep. thank you D. After reading the reviews, I was a little nervous about ordering these lamps. I need not have worried. They were packaged quite securely, snugly nestled in firm styrofoam, and the box was reinforced on all corners. I daresay they could have be dropped from the roof of my house and remain intact. The lamps are indeed, resin, however, they don't look it. The shades are a silk-like fabric, with no plastic as many bargain lampshades do. They are beautiful. In fact, I replaced another lamp in my house with one of these which I never intended to replace. The only criticism I have is that the color of the lamps and their shades are darker than the picture. Now, I happened to like this, but if you have your heart set on the lighter color of the picture, it may be an issue for you.
