I purchased this lamp for my wife at her favorite fabric store after one she had bought at a "hobby" shop failed any test of usability. One thing I don't understand, though, is that the one I bought weighed about 20 pounds one of the reasons it is usable while the shipping weight for Amazon says 5 pounds. Might want to check on that the higher weight is essential for an adjustable lamp that does not clamp to the worktable. Assembly was pretty straight forward. The lamp does tilt for fine work with the included magnifier but only to one position 60 degrees from the vertical. This is probably best because there is a stop for the tilt a large range of tilts might result in an insecure tilt. The lamp suspension arm is flexible which makes up for the single tilt angle. You can use standard compact fluorescent bulbs it comes with a daylight white bulb that may be a bit hard on the eyes. The accessory magnifier and workpiece clamp are removable if you want to reduce the clutter both seem to be sufficiently sturdy.
We just got it so my opinion might change but it seems like it will prove to be satisfactory. So far, my wife likes it quite well.
