While I love the look of this lamp and it gives an ambient light, I have had it for less than 6 months and the cord you have to pull to turn the light on and off pulled right out of the lamp. Now it looks nice but will not serve its purpose of adding some light to the room. At this point, I basically paid for the shade.
If the cord could be made stronger (mine was really not used beyond normal use in any way), I would highly recommend this light for an ambient lighting need due to the bulb wattage required. Right now, I can only give it 3 stars.
